How to Read Reviews of Any IT or Cybersecurity Provider
Whether you end up choosing Petronella Technology Group, Inc. or another firm, the way you read reviews matters. An IT or security provider will have access to your email, your files and often your clients' data, so a star rating alone is not enough. These are the checks we would run if we were in your seat.
1. Check where each review was posted
A review posted on Google, the Better Business Bureau or Facebook sits on a platform the provider does not control. A quote on the provider's own website is easier to curate. When you read testimonials anywhere, look for a way to trace each one back to where it was originally written.
2. Look for specifics, not adjectives
"Great service" tells you very little. A useful review names a problem, a service or a result: a phishing attack contained, an EMR system kept running seven days a week, a hard-to-find cable shipped to another country, an MSP partnership built on CMMC expertise. Specific reviews are harder to fake and much more useful for predicting what working with a firm will actually be like.
3. Weigh how long reviewers stayed
For managed IT and security, the length of the relationship says more than the rating. Anyone can make a good first impression. Staying for many years means the provider kept showing up through upgrades, staff turnover and emergencies. Several of the reviews above describe relationships of seven years, sixteen years and about twenty years.
4. Read the critical reviews too
Every business that has served clients for a long time has some unhappy ones, and a page that hides all of them should make you more suspicious, not less. A glowing review from a home user tells a defense contractor little about CMMC readiness, and a compliance review tells a small office little about day-to-day help desk response.
